Traffic info - Illinois between Washington & 16th

Illinois Street between Washington and 16th streets is scheduled for various improvements July through November:
• The roadway will be milled, resurfaced and restriped.
• A bike lane will be added along the east side of the street from New York Street to just south of Walnut Street and again from just north of St. Clair Street to just south of 16th Street.
• Curb and sidewalk spot repairs will be made throughout the corridor, including the addition of curb ramps to meet current Americans with Disabilities Act standards.
• Landscape improvements will be made to the bus stop at the northeast corner of Illinois Street and 16th Street.
• A number of trees will be replaced throughout the project area.
Various lane closures will be needed daily, but traffic will be maintained. A minimum of three lanes will be open each day during the evening rush hour, 4 - 6 p.m.
Delaware, Meridian and West streets are suggested alternate routes during this construction.
